So this is a MG Jegan that i customized with parts from a mg fa unicorn, along with several Kotabukya M.S.G. sets, parts from frame arms girl Jinrai and the builder parts funnels. it's been painted with turquise, teal, black, white and red testors paints, along with copper, silver and gold gundam marker. the turquise was went over with folkart colorshift teal. used mr. hobby flat top coat, along with testors colorshift sprays. the beam effects were painted with matalic pink, matalic green and white gundam markers with the same colorshift testors spray. to finish things off i used matalic silver and some grey gundam markers to do weathering and had a few number decals from some kit. most of the customization consisted of drilling 3mm ports to just plug things into.


i built the kit as a successor to a custom gm sniper II. so from here on out it will be my own head cannon for the ms.

Technology & combat characteristics:

The successor to the GM sniper II specter, it is built with state of the art prototype technology stolen and gifted to the pilot from a variety of black book facilities. though deployed almost 2 decades prior the Jegan specter's preformance is on par with ms like the F-91 gundam. this performance comes from all the prototype gear, but does come with a steep price... both figuratively and literally.

though it has a generator that has an output of ms like the Crossbone units, its prototype systems draw so much power that the Jagen specter cannot use hand held ranged beam weaponry, and it's melee and built in ranged beam weapons have wildly unstable output. to compensate fore this the Jegan specter is equipped with solid projectile and heat based weaponry allowing its beam weapons to be saved for emergency situations.

used with blitz style combat in mind the Jegan Specter starts most combat encounters with sniping, taking out as many key targets as it can before rushing into the fray. it uses its gattling gun and bazooka to close in and soften the enemy line, switching over to its shotgun for the main phase of its attack, and moving to its various hand guns and heat knives to finish off weakened targets. if the fight drags on it resorts to using its beam weapons to finish them quickly and escape.

for a final trump card, the unit is equipped with an improved version of the E.X.A.M. system. this upgraded system takes elements of the N-I-T-R-O and A.L.I.C.E. systems, allowing the non-newtype pilot to use funnels and the newtype housed within the system is able to fully control the ms herself to protect the pilot.

Armaments:

Vulcan pod: a small shell firing gun mounted on the left side of the unit's head. does little to nothing against other ms but works great for firing down incoming missiles or soft targets

Prototype VSBR/beam sabers: built into the 4 thruster units coming off the backpack the beam emitters at the tips are able to fire variable output beams or maintain a beam blade. the output of the VSBRs is somewhat unstable due to the energy demands of the thruster system combined with the drain from the VSBRs themselves. This can cause the fired shots to "dance" around wildly, striking anything within range. the blades formed are more stable but are prone to flickering on and off if used for extended periods. as they are unpredictable they are saved as a last resort attack.

Beam foot knives: simple beam blade emitters embedded in the toe of the foot. the blade they create is small, used for quick surprise attacks

Box beam saber/beam shield/ beam gattling gun unit: mounted on the right arm it is a combination unit that provides close range fire in the gattling gun, defense in the beam shield and a melee attack in the form of the saber that can be a full sword or a more intense dagger for cutting through better defenses. as it draws energy from the reactor it is only used if absolutely needed.

x2 90mm SMG: mounted on hardpoints on the lower legs. simple rapid fire gun. they do moderate damage, and are best used up close where the high rate of fire compensates for the lower damage to defeat enemy armor. each carries 30 rounds. they have a tracking device so they can be recovered later once they are discarded in combat

x2 90mm pistol: using the same ammo as the SMG has a lower rate of fire but have higher accuracy and are used to pinpoint strike weak points of an enemy. they are stored on the side skirts. each has 15 rounds. they have a tracking device so they can be recovered later after being discarded in combat

x2 110mm revolvers: a pair of high powered hand guns that fire heavy rounds that inflict high damage at close range. stored on the lower thruster/VSBR units. they have 6 rounds each. they have a tracking device so they can be recovered later after being discarded in combat

x2 heat kurki: bladed weapons with super heated edges used fore melee attacks. stored on mounts on the upper thruster/VSBR units they have a tracking device so they can be recovered later after being discarded in combat

x2 beam sabers: simple beam sabers. stored as the back skirts of the unit. their output is variable depending on how much energy they can draw from the unit making them as unstable in long conflicts as the rest of the beam weaponery.

bazooka: the same type used by the unicorn units. can be equipped with a variety of ammo. it has a grenade launcher attachment as well and is stored on the unit's back when not in use. the bazooka has 5 rounds, the grenade launcher has 10. it has a tracking device so it can be recovered later after being discarded in combat

Shotgun: a shell firing pump-action shotgun. it has 8 rounds in the tube, another 5 in a magazine, and one in the chamber for a total 14 shots. it has a tracking device so it can be recovered later after being discarded in combat

shield: a defensive unit that can mount on either arm but usually mounted on the left arm. originally a standard Jegan shield equip with its 4 missiles,  a secondary I-field generator is installed on it along with a pair of shell firing gattling guns with 500 rounds each. the gattling guns can be purged when they run out of ammo. both the guns and shield have a tracking device so they can be recovered later after being discarded in combat

x6 funnels: stored on recharge racks on the backpack, cylindrical type funnels. they are newtype weapons that the pilot is unable to use normally, but when the E.X.A.M. system+ is active either the pilot or the newtype embedded within the ms are able to control them to support the unit. they have the same output as the funnels used by units like the Sazabi or other Zeon units like the Jagd Doga. they have tracking devices so they can be recovered later after being discarded in combat

combat knife: a last resort weapon stored on the left shoulder. it has a super hardened tip used to drive the blade in to exposed joints. it has a tracking device so it can be recovered later after being discarded in combat

70mm anti MS sniper rifle: firing smaller rounds with high penetrating power and a small explosive load. preferably fired into the cockpit to kill the enemy pilot, or into limbs to disable the target. it holds 6 rounds. it has a tracking device so it can be recovered later after being discarded in combat

x2 heat hammers: Gundam hammers with super-heated spikes. their weight easily drives the heated tips in to targets. if used, this optional weapon is strategically placed in a container somewhere on the battlefield. they have a tracking device so it can be recovered mid combat and again later after being discarded in combat.


Special Equipment:

I-field generator: located on the top of the chest. it creates a field that protects the unit from beam weaponry. unfortunately because of the power needed to run its propulsion system, the i-field generator is not totally reliable, usually only able to cover the torso while in active combat, leaving the limbs exposed. if too much energy is being used, the thrusters get priority over the I-field.

Psycomune & Psycoframe cockpit: the Jegan has a psycomune system to control its funnels and has psycoframe covering the cockpit to increase the ms' reaction time


Anti-beam coating: a special coating that reflects beams away from the ms. the coating can be worn away over time and absorbing repeated beam strikes. it is meant to supplement the faulty I-field generator.

Cooling system:  the prototype systems installed all create massive amounts of waste heat to compensate the unit is equip with a special cooling system. the system is spread over the whole unit, in the form of additional armor plates that act as heat sinks pulling heat from the ms and disperse the heat quickly in to the surroundings

prototype-beam propulsion system: an alternate propulsion system that takes a much more brute force approach compared to a Minovsky craft like the Penelope or Xi or a Minovsky drive like the V2 have. rather than manipulating an I-field, this system essentially turns every thruster in to a modified mega particle cannon. the idea behind the system is to allow the unit to function for extended times without need for resupply. however the system is massively power hungry consuming almost every bit of the generator's output. the massive drawbacks are only somewhat made up for in the explosive speed they grant the unit.

Semi-organic bio-computer: Originally installed in the Jegan's predecessor the GM sniper II specter, it is a computer system that is built around the still living brain of a young newtype with small amounts of Psycoframe used to capture her soul alongside her mind. this newtype happens to be the younger sister of the pilot, put in to the system by her own mother as a way to allow her non newtype brother to take advantage of her newtype abilities in combat via the new E.X.A.M. also included in the ms. After the GM sniper II Specter's destruction, the bio computer was transferred in to a Haro around the size of the one from Victory gundam. like that Haro this one is able to control the MS it is installed in regardless if the ms was specifically built for it like the Jegan is.       

E.X.A.M.+: an improved version of the E.X.A.M system. it adds the functionality of the H.A.D.E.S. or N-I-T-R-O system in that the non newtype pilot can use funnels while the system is active. it also boosts the pilot's reaction time, gives them the precognitive abilities, and gives the pilot telepathic abilities. additionally because the newtype, Bernadette, used as the base of the system is fully conscious, she can cooperate with the pilot controaling the funnels while the pilot, her older brother, takes care of moving the ms. with the pilot working with the living newtype existing in the system, the unit becomes almost untouchable. what's more Bernadette being tied into the ms allows her to fully controal the ms even without a pilot or if her main computer body is detached from the system. unlike the previous systems, because the bond shared between the pilot and system, the E.X.A.M.+ has some similarly to the A.L.I.C.E system with the system being fully in control so long as at least one of the two is able to control their emotions... that said if both pilot and newtype become enraged, with the emotional bolstering effects of the psycoframe the ms can still enter a berserker state, attacking anything within range.




History:

Originally meant to be a mass produced cyber-newtype use MS. Using the easily obtainable mass production Jagen as a base, the design was modified by the shady Newtype research facility Cybele, located on the asteroid of the same name out in the asteroid belt. this group is made up of members from all sorts of less than moral research groups who fled there to avoid being branded as war criminals. one of the head researchers was Rebecca Hawthorne, Nathaniel and Bernadette's mother.

Outwardly loving to their children Rebecca, and her ace pilot husband Joseph, were former members of the earth federation, her working at the Agusta newtype labs and him a OYW vet turned Titan. they met as Joseph trained her cyber-newtype subjects for combat. both fled to Axis Zeon after the Gryps war, joining Glemy's faction, helping with the Puru cloning project before fleeing to their current base of operation after the 1st neo-Zeon war. they had their 1st child Nathaniel, Nate, shortly after arriving, and several years later a daughter.

Nate and his sister lived a fairly normal life along with Nate's childhood friend, a "failed" 2nd gen puru clone who he simply calls 23. though that all changed when Nate was around 15 years old. while he and 23 had become exceptionally talented pilots, due to both his father's training and the cybernetic implants and genetic experimentation of his mother, Bernadette, who was a powerful newtype, had no desire to pilot or take part in her parent's more combat oriented testing.

not wanting to see their child's talents go to waste, it was decided Bernadette would have her brain exstracted and used along with some psycoframe to build their child in to a living weapon system to innitally be installed in Nate's orignal unit, a GM sniper II with hopes to move her to a better ms at a later date.

Nate and 23 cought wind of this plan however and made plans to rescue the young girl. they failed however only just missing the opperation. enraged the pair stole the GM sniper with the newly installed Bernadette along with 23's Quebely commander type and escaped after defeating Nate's father who was using a Gustave Karl.

over the next year or two the couple drifted from one pirate or mercenary group to the next doing all they could to hunt down and destroy any technology that had come from their former home. this culminated in a fierce battle at the Cybele baseagainst Nate's parents who were using a gundam Inle, flanked by an army of clones using improved versions of  the mass production Quebely. though victorious, the couple lost all their allies in the fighting, and 23 was injured and ended up in a comatose state simmilar to Kamille at the end of Zeta. and the GM sniper II, now known as the GM sniper spector, was heavily damaged beyond repair.

As a small silver lining, Nate did recover several Jegan units that were under construction in the remains of the base. though the exact number of units is known only to him and the team he contracted to finish their construction. this team were contacts he made during his time as a mercinary, a former Zeonic test team that had gone independent shortly after the OYW. this group had a soft spot for seventeen year old and agreed to help on the condition they recieved all the data left behind from the recearch base Nate had just destroyed. Agreeing Nate received the completed Jagen units, hiding all but 1 in several places throughout the asteroid belt in case he needed them at a future date. meanwhile with on other choice he had no option but to seek help for 23's condition from the Earth Federation.

seeing as how Nate had taken out a troublesome element outside of the federation's influence, they saw an oppertunity for some cooperation. in in exchange for medical assistance for his girlfriend, Nate agreed to join a mercenary group contracted to the federation that patrolled the mostly lawless outer reaches of the solar system. though only doing so reluctantly it did serve his own goal of hunting down and eliminating the stragglers from his childhood home. during his time with the group he grew to trust the team but like with every crew he had been on he kept them at arms length, cooperating with them, but never fully relying on them in combat. he only intends to remain with them until his girlfriend is recovered.

Nate himself is a loner, only really caring about his girlfriend and sister. since his sister is in fact now a giant ms he is often seen babying his ms, talking aloud to it, constantly maintaining it, cleaning it, tuning it up, etc. outside of his lone wolf attitude, he is kind of a goofball and somewhat lazy and laid back. even in combat he is the kind of person who cracks jokes and doesn't take his job seriously even if his enemy actually poses a threat he's the type to mock them and goad them on. While he is't someone who would go out of his way to hurt people, he also isn't someone who exactly cares what happens to others, and wouldn't hesitate to fire through a hostage to take out a target... that is unless that hostage was someone he loved then he would do anything to prioritize their safety, including joining the enemy, if only to stab them in the back... Basically his personality is a mix of Dante and Vergil from Devil May Cry with a bit of Nero's hotheadedness throne in. though he acts goofy and hot headed he is actually quite smart, even while in a berserk state he uses the battle field to his advantage and doesn't easily fall into traps.

trained by a veteran ace alongside cyber-newtypes, Nate is more than a match for almost any pilot. and on top of his training, his mother's experiments bolstered his natural talents with genetic and cybernetic modifications. the modifications to his body allow him to better handle the stresses of space, like preventing muscle and bone mass loss in low g, improving his spatial awareness, and lowering his metabolism, letting him survive for longer without needing food and reducing the amount of air he needs. the cybernetic implants he received allow him to plug directly into his Ms' OS and bolster his reaction time by grafting psycoframe directly to his bones. though again, despite all the modifications, he is still only an old type and unable to use newtype abilities and weapons without the help of his sister.
